Our monthly E-letter- Oct/Nov
The Jewish Home
Our exciting theme running through
this year will be The Jewish Home.
Each week during the year when we
are not discussing a Holiday or
Season we will be talking about our
home and what good deeds/things
and Jewish objects are in each room.
This is very exciting for the children
since every child has a
pride about their home.
Each room we discuss
brings comments of 'My
bed is pink" and "I have a
train in my toy box" etc... I
love seeing the children
so involved as we create
an adorable book going
through each room. We
stick on props like toys in
the bedroom and challah
on the dining room table.
It is like a mini doll house
created all by them!!
BEDROOM:
In this room we had a chance to incorporate the
mitzvah of Charity (since every bedroom should
have a Tzedakah box by our bed) and the
mitzvah of Mezuzah, an all time favorite of
children.  We acted like scribes, using feathers
and ink as we wrote our own mezuzah.
Reminder: Music at Torah Tots Mommy and me is this Wed -
the 18th when we begin singing Chanukah & Thanksgiving
songs.
Next month December 17th Thursday will be our Chanukah
Party and Music Class! All parents and siblings welcome to join.
Shabbat Shalom -Rivkie & the Torah tots Gang
come. He loved guest and made sure to always be nice to
them.
They made a tent with four doors- and oh with such pride
did they paint!
We then spoke about a Shabbat table and all the objects
that belong on our table. We placed a kiddush cup, challah
and wine on our table in our Jewish Home Books. We got to
bake Challah- which is always a special treat.
After the holidays we
began our unite of the
Torah portions. We got
to do CREATION- the
concept of G-d creating
the world charge of the
world NOAH'S ARK- the
story of the flood a unit
on animals and the
wonderful music class
to enjoy.
ABRAHAM - The
concept of G-d being
everywhere.
DINING ROOM
Here we had the great opportunity of
talking about a mitzvah integral to a
Jewish family- welcoming guests. The
Torah tells us we must welcome
guests in our own giving them the
very best you have. This is important
for children since guests (or
playmates) are sometimes not
welcomed into their life. Sharing, and
being nice to your guests was very
much a topic. We learned the story of
Abraham who had a tent with four
doors. Why four doors you ask? So
that guests walking in any direction of
the desert would see an open door for
them to
Sorry for the few pictures we have this month. Camera was being repaired. More next month:)
