Dear Parents Welcome to The Torah Tots Preschool. I am pleased that you have chosen our school as a “home away from home” for your child. Here at Torah Tots, we are committed to creating a warm, friendly and happy environment for your child. When dropping off your child, you will find a caring teacher who above all will shower the children with love and affection. We offer a creative Jewish learning atmosphere where your child's individual style of learning will be valued and nurtured. We will encourage your child to explore the world, to learn to be part of a group, and to solve problems in a constructive manner. Learning at our school is self- rewarding, joyous and non competitive. Being a mother myself, I know that going to school for the first time is one of the most important milestones in a child's life. At the same time it is a milestone in your life as well, particularly if it is your first child to go to school. I have prepared this handbook to help ease any anxieties you may have and to assure you that your child is in good hands. In addition to an outline of our carefully designed program, this booklet contains other words of educational advice. You may want to keep it handy and refer to it often. Nothing, of course, takes the place of direct contact between you, myself and the rest of the school faculty. I invite you to call me at the school to discuss any questions or uncertainties regarding your child's preschool education whenever you feel it necessary. Children need to touch, feel, explore, analyze, investigate and experience. Through active participation, learning goes beyond knowing. |
| At Torah Tots, we welcome every Jewish child regardless of background or affiliation. Our goal is to make learning interesting, exciting and stimulating through a hands-on approach. We provide for physical, intellectual and emotional growth through drama, visual aides, manipulative, puppets and the use of centers within the classroom. Children are encouraged to use their senses to explore, experiment, and use their imagination to the fullest. We will work with each child to help develop his/her self-esteem through problem solving, encouraging self-expression and offering positive reinforcement. |
| At Torah Tots we appreciate the individuality of each child. Each child is loved, challenged and taught according to his or her own need. Every child is encouraged to learn and absorb to the utmost of their own ability and is not expected to perform as their peers. Joy and love are the main tools to a growing atmosphere. |

| experienced preschool teacher. She has directed many Camp Gan Israels world wide as well as the one right here in Goshen, NY. Rivkie runs a Mommy & Me program at the Chabad Center and is known for her warmth and love for children. |
