Featured Speaker Marion Blumentahl Lazan, a survivor and author of the
famous book "Four Perfect Pebbles" will visit Orange County to share her
experiences in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The Holocaust
survivor, Marion Blumenthal Lazan, speaks in schools and communities
throughout the world. At an event that is open to the public, she will discuss
her past and stress "the ideas of perseverance, determination, faith and

Following Hitler*s rise to power, the Blumenthal family * father, mother,
Marion, and her brother, Albert * were trapped in Nazi Germany. They
managed eventually to get to Holland, but soon thereafter it was
occupied by the Nazis. For the next six and a half years the Blumenthals
were forced to live in refugee, transit, and prison camps that included
Westerbork in Holland and the notorious Bergen-Belsen in Germany. In
1944, 9-year-old Lazan & her father, mother and brother were
transported to
Bergen-Belsen, a concentration camp
in Germany.
Her family survived and was released
in 1945.
